I have long been a student of history. We learn so much about ourselves when we look at our past and the lives of our predecessors. One of my favorite areas of study has always been the Roman empire. Now, if you’ll hang in here with me through the first portion of this article, I promise two things: I will at some point discuss college football, and you will likely learn some fascinating things about Roman history and culture. I also want to state that there is not one clear resource that I am using to bring to you these little tid bits of history. I’ve absorbed a lot of the years, and to be quite honest, I would have a hard time telling you where I learned specific facts. So, don’t expect this to be some academic resource and don’t even think about quoting me as a resource either. With that…it’s time for some learning.
